Dear Kindergarten Friend,
I am Mrs. Bailey, and I will be your Kindergarten teacher. I am very excited to meet you! In Kindergarten you will make new friends, share stories, learn to read and write, play games, sing songs, and much more! To be ready for school you should know how to write and recognize your name, know most capital and lowercase letters of the alphabet as well as their sounds, count to 10 and recognize those numbers, keep shoes tied, zip/button clothes, and take care of restroom needs. Being able to share and not interrupt others is very important as well. If you have good behavior, you will be a strong learner and have a terrific Kindergarten year. Kick-off-to-Kindergarten night will be held on Tuesday, August 15th from 5-6 pm. It is very important for you and your family to come to school at this time to learn about all the wonderful things we will do in Kindergarten. You will get a chance to meet other classmates, drop off your supplies, and learn about our classroom. Your parents will learn about volunteering, lunch money, buses, and all the things they will need to do to help you be successful in Kindergarten. Childcare will be provided for you and your school-aged siblings during the Kickoff-to-Kindergarten event. Be sure to bring your supplies so I can have them organized for our first day. Label EVERYTHING with a Sharpie - even crayons! Have pencils sharpened so you will be ready for learning. I promise you will be fine. I will be here to help you.
